Home Spa Bath Experience for Bath Junkies
Are you a bath junkie?
As a health site, we don’t endorse addiction, but we have to admit that being a bath junkie is a harmless addiction to have. Bath time should be like a luxurious home spa experience and one of the best ways to spend some “me time.” So lock the door and run a warm bath.
As you strive for the perfect bath experience, imitating a spa experience is one of the best ways to create a clearing for peace and self-love in your life. Turning your bath time into a spa-like experience is also therapeutic as it allows the body to absorb natural and nutritious elements for healing.
Here are the top 5 tips to turn a bath into an at-home spa experience for bath junkies:
1. Clean your Bathtub and Bathroom
The only people more intense than bath junkies are clean freaks! In this case, being a clean freak is a good thing. Nothing is more distracting than seeing dirt and mildew stains in your bathtub while soaking.
Clean your bathroom thoroughly with the following:
Dish soap. Use this surfactant (a compound that lowers the surface tension between a liquid and a solid in this case) to clean sink(s), bathtub and shower.
White Vinegar. Use this with dish soap to clean sinks, bathtub, and shower.
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Use this on the bathtub after cleaning with dish soap and white vinegar.
Broom/Swiffer: Remove all larger debris on the floor by either sweeping or dusting with the Swiffer or both.
Mop/SwifferJet. Clean the floor with a mop or using a Swiffer mop.
Add equal parts of Dawn dish soap and White vinegar in your sink(s) and bathtub and run hot water. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
Note: While your sink and tub are soaking, clean the toilet and floor. The floor is critical to having a clean bathroom. Lay down a clean floormat. Finish cleaning the sink and tub with a cleaning cloth or sponge in the dish soap and white vinegar mixture. After rinsing, use the Mr. Clean magic eraser.
Pro tip: If you have a moldy/mildew bathtub, try this simple trick:
2. Design Your Home Spa Bath Look
Before running your bath, you should design your spa bath look by deciding what to see when you enter your soak.
Make your bathtub beautiful and create a relaxing ambiance by adding the following:
Tub rack. Add a tub rack to your tub if you want to drink, read, or have anything in your tub that needs a place to sit. Try this tub rack.
Bath Pillow. Add a bath pillow to give your head a comfortable resting spot.
Bath Towels. Put out luxury spa bath towels or a spa robe to use after your bath.
Bath mat. Put down a clean bath mat or floor towel on a clean bathroom floor.
Candles. Add pillar or container candles throughout the bathroom. They are usually scented, which adds an aromatherapy essence to the room. Another excellent way to use candles for ambiance is to use floating candles in the water. If you want to use these waterproof floating candles, add them after you’ve run your bath.
Flower Petals. Finally, adding flower petals adds a nice touch to make your home spa bath very pretty!
3. Add Home Spa Bath Ingredients
One of the main reasons a bath junkie takes a bath is to soak.
What do you soak in?
It’s lovely to soak in warm water, but if you are looking for something more therapeutic and fun, you might want to try some Epsom salt or a scented bubble bath.
Baths are one of the best ways to benefit from herbal remedies. Putting herbs, flowers, and other natural ingredients into your baths will allow your body to absorb the nutrients through your skin.

4. Add Your Favorite Beverage
Bath junkies insist on having a spa bath beverage. If you are a wine drinker, having a nice glass of wine is an excellent way to unwind. If you don’t drink alcohol, a mocktail is perfectly fine. Here are a few more ideas:
Detox Water. Also known as spa water which is fruit-infused water. Many spas have water like this for you to drink after your spa treatment.
Herbal Tea. Drink your favorite herbal tea while relaxing in herbs in your bath.
Agua Fresca. Nothing is more refreshing than having a light fruit drink to sip on while you soak.
5. Add Your Activities
Do you prefer to lay back and listen to some relaxing music or read a juicy book? Or would you like to meditate? Think about the kind of experience you want with your bath and plan accordingly. Below are some ideas:
- Bring your kindle and read one of your favorite novels
- Bring your phone and earbuds and listen to a meditation track
- Listen to music from a spa music channel
- Watch your favorite shows on your phone
- View helpful content on YouTube
After Bath
After your bath, you may want to take a quick shower, depending on what ingredients you’ve soaked in. It’s also a great time to use a body scrub if you’d like. Once done, dry off with some clean spa towels, put on your favorite lotion and take a sip of spa water to rehydrate while wearing your spa robe.
Congratulations! You’ve just created one of the most therapeutic and relaxing experiences you can have at home. Your very own home spa bath experience!
